Who Runs YouTube Golf These Days?
The Top Three Golf YouTubers Right Now
We are going to keep the same theme of this newsletter about being golf with this week we’re discussing YouTube Golf.
Last week, we talked about Scheffler winning The Masters and this week our focus will be on my thoughts for the best Golf YouTubers on the internet.
Of course, this is my opinion, so please take it as such. There are A LOT of golf YouTube channels to choose from these days.
Here are the Top Three Golf YouTube channels right now:
No. 1: Bob Does Sports: 733K Subscribers
Although they don’t have the biggest following of my three favorite Golf YouTube channels, they are the most funny, entertaining and enjoyable to watch.
Robby Berger aka Bobby Fairways has to be one of the most likable human beings on this planet. He is hilarious with his noteworthy one-liners “Oh, Cutsy Bomb” when Joey Cold Cuts farts, “bad day to be a fairway” and “You’re an absolute sicko.”
Joseph Peter Demarre aka Joey Cold Cuts is a fun-loving guy that seems to be the glue of the group. He can play golf really well some days and have horrific meltdowns other days. It’s very entertaining to watch either way.
Finally, the best golfer of all three of them Nick Stubbe aka The Fat Perez. He’s an extremely talented golfer who can bring the banter any video they produce. He also has one of the smoothest golf swings on the internet (and I’ve been watching YouTube golf for nearly 4 years).
Not to mention, Binyamin “The Jet” and Neil “Bigg Ticket” Arnet are two cameramen that are the cherries on this fun-dysfunctional group. The Jet brings sarcasm and pessimism which is a great add to the mix, while Bigg Ticket adds another humor element to the mix.
They are growing at a fast pace and even have an amazing clothing line called Breezy Golf. Definitely worth giving it a buy. I got my bagels, lox and cream cheese headcover, which I’m excited to receive in the mail.
If you don’t follow Bob Does Sports and/or listen to their podcast, you gotta get on it today.
No. 2: Good Good Golf: 1.48M Subscribers
Although they probably have the top 3 most subscribers in YouTube Golf, Good Good Golf comes second in my list (of course this is my opinion).
Their content is great because they are a mix of great golfing and humor.
While Bob Does Sports can lack amazing golf at times, Good Good Golf makes up for it with excellent ball strikers/low handicappers like Garrett Clark, Brad Dalke (who played in The Masters in the past) and Luke Kwon (who recently left the group to elevate his personal brand).
Not to mention, they have other talent like Tom “Bubbie” Broders (who has a wicked draw and some of the longest drives on YouTube Golf), Stephen Castaneda (who could be the best putter in the group) and Matt Scharff (who has an unbelievable 2 hole-in-ones on par 4s on camera!).
The group occasionally has guests like AJ Pujols (Albert Pujols’ son and a great golfer) and Michael Block aka Blockie (2023 PGA Championship legend). They’ve had former members like Micah Morris and Grant Horvat (who both broke off from the group to build up their personal channels as well).
They even got an article about them calling the group, “The Boy Band of the Links,” which is worth a read.
Finally, their apparel brand named Good Good Golf has some of the best clothes in the golf industry in my opinion. I love their polos (reasonable price) and joggers are outstanding too. And they are sponsored by none other than Callaway Golf, which is extremely impressive and some PGA Tour golfers can’t even get that sponsorship.
I’m always excited to see the content that Good Good Golf publishes. My notifications for new videos are always on. 🔔
No. 3: Grant Horvat: 610K Subscribers
Why did a put Grant Horvat on this list?
I put him here because of his outstanding golf ability (probably the best handicap of all of the golfers mentioned in this newsletter), his kindness and likability factor as well.
A little bit about Horvat:
Grant was born in Stuart, Florida and played at Palm Beach Atlantic University from 2017-2021. He was a member of Good Good Golf, but left in late 2022 (which there isn’t a definitive reason, but I have to speculate that he left in order to propel his YouTube golf channel and brand).
Totally makes sense as Good Good Golf elevates any golfer that joins the channel, but they’ve lost members due to growing their personal brands like Horvat, Micah Morris and Kwon.
Horvat has done just that. He signed with TaylorMade in January 2023 (the rival of Callaway, who sponsors Good Good Golf) and Primo Golf last month as well. Two major brand moves for the 25-year old golfer.
I love his videos with Bills QB Josh Allen, the Bryan Bros, two-time major champion Colin Morikawa and No. 1 LPGA golfer Nelly Korda (who just won the past 5 events!).
The sky is the limit for Horvat and I’m excited to see who he goes 1v1 with next.
Overall, I love these three channels, but there is an honorable mention that I would be remissed if I didn’t mention and that’s Rick Shiels. He’s a YouTube Golf legend, but just doesn’t make my rankings because I don’t love his content as much as the other three.
Hit the subscribe button to all of these four YouTube channels if you aren’t already. They are all worth the follow! 🚨
